Earths Crust
The first layer of Earth also known as the Crust, consists of about 10 miles of rock and loose material. Underneath the continents the Crust is almost three times as thick as It is under the oceans. The temperature of the Crust ranges from -70 degrees to 750 degrees. The Crust is the outside of Earth, what we are standing on. The Crust is a thin layer of solid rock the deepness of the crust is from 5km to over 50km. In geology, the Crust is the outermost solid shell of a rocky planet or natural satellite, which is distinct from the Mantle lying below. The Crusts of Earth, Earths moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Io and other planets have been generated largely by igneous processes, and these Crusts are richer in elements then there under the Mantle.
